MiP launches survey and sounding board for senior members
MiP is to set up a ‘Sounding Board’ to gauge the views of its board-level members and discuss the issues that are important to them. The board will include MiP members who are very senior managers (VSMs), or executive senior managers (ESMs) working for NHS England or other arm’s-length bodies.
In December, the union also launched its annual pay survey for VSM/ESM members, which runs until 6 January. All members in this group have been sent an email invitation to take part in the survey
The annual survey and the Sounding Board’s discussions will help MiP to compile its evidence for the Senior Salaries Review Body (SSRB), which will make recommendations on VSM/ESM pay from April 2023. MiP is due to submit its evidence to the SSRB by 13 January.
The Sounding Board will also discuss other issues affecting board-level members, including the upcoming Covid Inquiry, pensions, and the proposed non-statutory register for directors recommended by the Kark review.
“The Sounding Board is an important way for MiP to keep in touch with its most senior members and find out more about what matters to them,” said MiP chief executive Jon Restell.
“We know how busy you are, so we will make every effort to ensure the board does not take up too much of your time, and we’ll do our best to accomodate your schedule,” he added.
- If you are interested in joining a Sounding Board, please email info@miphealth.org.uk for more information. If you are a VSM or ESM member of MiP and have not received your survey invitation by email, contact MiP head office and we’ll resend it. The survey closes on Friday 6 January 2023.
