NHS England launches executive suite
NHS England and NHS Improvement have launched an executive suite offer aimed at supporting lifelong learning for executive leaders across their careers.
It intends to build upon the NHS People Plan, NHS People Promise and the Leadership Compact.
The resources and offers are a combination of existing well-being and leadership development content for NHS senior leaders mixed with new elements which have been specially commissioned for the Executive Suite. A small number of the offers are limited to NHS leaders, but the vast majority of resources are available to all senior leaders across health and care, and as such may be of interest to MiP members across a variety of professions.
The offers are grouped under six headings:
-
Inspiration: ideas to inspire your leadership practice, including a seminar series, King’s Fund masterclasses, and other curated thought leadership resources. The initial seminars place a strong emphasis on racial justice, and responds to the global movement of Black Lives Matter and the disproportionate impacts of COVID-19 on BAME communities.
-
Connecting and developing: places for discussion, including virtual action learning sets, the chief executive development network, a development network for executive directors, and a reverse mentoring programme.
-
Leading in systems: working to develop systems thinking and leadership practice, which offers development interventions are designed to support leaders at the individual and collective level, and throughout the system.
-
Support in difficult times: access to mentoring and psychological support, including one-to-one psychological support and mentoring from the Centre for Army Leadership.
-
New in post: resources to help you get in stride with your new leadership role, specifically tailored to the new challenges of senior leadership during the Covid-19 crisis.
-
Regional support: the leadership and lifelong learning teams in your region will support you in navigating the options available and assisting you in choosing which options would be most beneficial for you.
The offer will be supported with a live listening events, the first of which will be held on 6 October at 10am, which you can register for here.
