How you can get involved
There has never been a better time to get involved with MiP. You can join hundreds of your colleagues as MiP workplace reps, stand for election to our National Committee or participate in MiP’s campaigns and policy development.
A Member-led union
Trade unions are at their most effective when members feel involved. Being active on behalf of MiP in your workplace, supporting our campaigns and contributing to policy and strategy, means you are making our workplaces better for you and your colleagues.
To stay updated on MiP’s activities, campaigns and events please keep an eye out for our all member email each Friday. If you don’t receive this, please contact info@miphealth.org.uk.
Ways to get more involved
Becoming a MiP workplace representative is the best way to getting more involved with the union. MiP relies on our growing network of workplace reps to help us support members, represent MiP at employer meetings and keep us informed of the main issues affecting managers.
After completing your representative training, you will also have the opportunity to run for a position on our National Committee. The National Committee, composed of elected representatives serving two-year terms, oversees MiP’s overall strategy, management, and operations, with members voting in each constituency.
We understand that as healthcare managers you already have high workloads with limits on how much extra activity you can do, but you can still get involved in other ways such as:
- Responding to MiP surveys on policy issues
- Speaking to your colleagues about the union and encouraging them to join MiP
- Sharing our communications to raise awareness about MiP
- Taking part in and supporting MiP campaigns on management issues
- Joining MiP online and face-to face events and feeding back workplace issues to us
