MiP is passionate about high quality, dignified healthcare and we support policies that help our members deliver this throughout the UK.

We are the only trade union specifically for healthcare managers, and speak up for you with policy makers, employers and the media to get your views across, develop best practice and challenge anti-management rhetoric.

We believe that managers matter - they are an essential part of the team keeping the NHS show on the road. We have joined with HSJ to campaign for respect for NHS managers which challenges the myths and stereotypes about managers perpetrated by politicians and other commentators.

During the coming general election campaign we will be speaking up for managers on a range of health policy issues, including the future of the NHS and the need fair pay.

We promote our values and principles through policy interventions, including submissions to official inquiries on health policy, providing evidence on managers' pay and pensions, lobbying politicians in Westminster, Scotland and Wales, and discussions with policy makers and employers.

MiP briefing on Health and Social Care Bill for House of Lords
Oct 2011/PDF
The changes made to the Health Bill following the Government's listening exercise have, if anything, made it more complex. There are still significant risks associated with the proposals and Managers in Partnership has concluded, along with many other organisations, such as the BMA and RCGP, that the goals of a more clinical led and patient focused NHS could be achieved - along with significant costs savings - through the reform and clustering, of PCTs and SHAs and without new unsettling legislation.
