MiP comments on the report into Liverpool Community Health Trust
Commenting on the report by Capsticks into Liverpool Community Health Trust, MiP's chief executive, Jon Restell, said:
'This report again demonstrates the importance of strong, stable senior management in health care.'
'Another key lesson is that non executive directors must both support and challenge executive directors, and that executive directors should seek out that challenge and support. It's all part of a healthy corporate culture.'
'Critically, managers should treat staff concerns - for example, in the NHS staff survey - as the early warning system for quality care, and act on those concerns.'
'A positive workplace culture means good care for patients and service users. The report finds that under the new executive team the trust has started to turn the corner. As the union for NHS managers we at MiP are committed to help the trust do things differently.'
